This friday marks the Feast of Fools' 8 year anniversary, and the seventh version of the show. Take a look:

• Spring 1998: Bill Haddad coins the name "Feast of Fools" for the artist's variety show benefit for Randolph Street Gallery.

• Fall 1998: Fausto Fernós and Asimina Chremos organize "The Feast of Fools Cabaret" at Big Chicks in Uptown, Chicago.

• September 1999: Due to audience size, the Feast of Fools moves to a new location at the Bailiwick Theater on Belmont Ave.

• April 1, 2000: "The Feast of Fools Freaky Sheaky Cabaret" moves to the Hothouse Interntaional Center for Performance and Exhibition.

• Feb 21, 2002: Thanks to Victoria Lamar and Marc Felion, the Feast of Fools moves to an unprecedented location, a huge Vietnamese Banquet Hall in the heart of Uptown, just doors down from Big Chicks.

• May 26, 2004: "Feast of Fools Show" moves to it's new and current home for it's live show at Schubas Tavern in Lakeview (just doors down from Bailiwick Theater.)

Here's a great action shot taken live as we interviewed David Danger Andora last night, by celebrity photographer Jason Smith. Click on the photo to see a bigger version of the thumbnail.
As annoying as it was having Jason taking pictures during the show, I'm really greatful he is such a shutter bug because (like my dad) 10-20 years from now, these pictures will be a great historical document of what Podcasting was like in 2005. And of course, his deliciously expensive hi-rez digital camera combined with his decades of photography experience make even the ugliest people look like glamorous supermodels.

I need some advice on what to name the ID3 Tags

I've been experimenting with new ID3 tags (iTunes "song" info) for the shows, and I was wanting to know what you think it should look like? I'm trying to keep both the podcast listener and the web browerser audience in mind.

Since Podcasting is such a new genre, all the rules and conventions are being inveted as we all go along. So I'm asking YOU my dedicated fans, what should the tags look like? I changed the tags on todays show, to allow the file name to come first, then the show's title and then the guests scroll across the iPod screen. Then I took out the redundant information, so you can easily find the show you're looking for on your iPod. Third, I made the guest searchable, since you can only search song title, artist, composer and album tags in iTunes.

Thanks to Adam Baker, Richard Bluestein, and Jason Smith for your help in getting this far.

Old Homeschoolin' Style

My sisters and I had a very unusual childhood in San Juan, Puerto Rico. As young kids my mom took us out of school and had us home school for a couple of years. That, and art classes, music lessons, and lots of love from both of my parents made me the flaming-blue loveable person I am today.

My sister Talia and I (as well as Beatriz) would set up these lemonade stands where we'd sell very runny lemonade made from the key-lime tree that grew in our backyard.

Here's a picture of Talia working on her math (she's now a BIG deal in the world of academia) when she was a wee lad. IF you click on it, you can see the cheap lemonade stand sign I made, imitating my father's architechtually "perfect" pennmanship.

Yes, I KNOW Meth Madness week was last week, but the interview with Gigi and Sal-E was SO good that I just had to show you guys this show that never got posted last week. I mean, GIGI IS A KISS GIRL! A KISS girl for chrissakes. And in case you were wondering, Gigi can have children, and does have two adorable twin boys. Cho's Show (she must have said "CUNT" a zillion times)

Under massive sleep deprivation, Madge Weinstein and I went to see the legendary comic Margaret Cho at the Chicago Theater (in Chicago, IL) tonight. I always love going out with Madge because she looks great in her fake furs and boca raton inspired hair. But thats not what knocked me out of my chair. It seem that Madge and Margaret were connected psychically because in her show, Ms. Cho was almost as foul mouthed as Madge is on her podcasts. I've seen Maggie Cho's act throughout the years, and this has the spiciest, hard-core, best work yet. CUNT-gratulations Cho-la! Your show rocked. So does this mean that Madge is ready to go mainstream? I think it is!
