Podcast

Today, the Feast of Fools turns 8. Happy Birthday Baby! You've come a long, long way. On today's show, Fausto goes back BACK to his roots, to talk on the phone with his art teacher, mystical real-life amazon, former nun, performance art-guru Linda Montano. In my own opinion, Linda was one of THE early pioneers of Performance Art, and in a sense reality television. In the 1970's Linda extensively documented her personal life with her husband Mitchell Payne.

Linda is the woman behind the often quoated phrase"Life=Art, Art=Life." - Linda's life's work in a way, has laid the foundation for what is now known as "Reality Television" as much as PBS 1973 grounbreaking documentary "An American Family." A decade later in 1983, Linda spent an entire year tied at the waist with performance artist Tehching Hsieh and they never touched. What's even better is that it seems one of the writers of the Simpsons reffered to the piece in the "Parent Rap" episode where Homer is ordered to be tied (by an eight foot rope) to his son Bart for being a bad father. I dedicate this Feast of Fools anniversary show to Linda Montano, without her, I would be someplace far far away...

Linda Montano's new book: "Letters From Linda Montano" is avaiable hardcover and softcover (much cheaper).

Also on todays show: Ugly computers, winner of "Victoria Lamarr is a big star" contest, and more about the family feud with Wanda Wisdom.

Speaking of ugly computers, have you heard Morrissey's updated lyrics on "Bigmouth Strikes Again" from his new live CD?

BORIEST FoF EVER~!!!!

sorry fausto, i love your show, but SNOOOOOOOOOOORE!

Fausto isn't paid to make these podcasts, so he has no allegiance to anyone to cater his podcasts to. Furthermore, since these are his podcasts he can do whatever he likes.

Sure, it may not have been the funniest FoF, but he made no pretense that each FoF would funny. This podcast, it seems, is more for Fausto than other people because it gives him a time to reflect on the past 8 years of his life and all that it includes. He met many great people in those years, was able to express his creative side, so it's only natural that he give credit where credit is due: to Linda Montano. She had a profound effect on his life and personality and I'm sure I'm not alone when I thank him for sharing such a profound experience with us all.

Hey, I appreciate your honest feedback, even when its negative or "bored". Sometimes the "good" interviews take a while to sink in, and may not always be spicy hot. Definitively Linda Montano's style is very subdued and deep, not frilly.

At the same time, Linda is one of those people who share the same hilarious sense of humor of the great female comedians of the 20th century (Lily Tomlin, Gilda Radner, Sandra Bernhard) and I've always felt that I've been in the precense of a great mind.

But we have SO much in store for you in the next month! So much much more. The only think I ask of you is to get your friends to listen to the show, explain to them what podcasting is, spread the podcasting gospel around!

And of course, buy a t-shirt.

hugs
Fausto

Kitten, your gracious olive branch to Miss Wanda was a class act, although we always knew the shade Jai-Alai was in good fun. Looking forward to Monday's show, in which I expect you to be entirely to hard on el Papa.

Oh Fausto...That was very classy to apologize. You have regained back well deserved gold stars with me. When are you and Wanda going do show together, and better yet...I have said it before, and I will ask again...When are You, Wanda and Madge going to a show together???

The problem is that people enjoy seeing us podcasting queers infighting with each other. Its a lot easier to throw bile at your friends than it is to throw it at the REAL enemy: ignorance, injustice and president Bush jr.

I get really sick and tired of my friends who I give so much love and support turn around and stab me verbally in the back, and I'm cutting them off.
