An old pic of me.

RedMonkey is a regular listener of our show who fancies the same kind of men that we do.

He "found" this old photo of me taken before I lost my washboard abs to podcasting! This is also when I used to shave every hair on my body and I was an olympic gymnast.

Don't I look nice?

FOF #164 - Justin Bond Will Die For You - 09.30.05

Podcast
Kiki and Herb
met each other as children in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1934. Their tumultuous lives have been affected by the painful loss of Kiki's child Coco and Herb's difficult life as a Catskills piano player.

After a disastrous turn working for the Princess Cruise lines Kiki and Herb were "rediscovered" by a new generation in the early nineties in San Francisco. Since then they have performed around the world as a sort of freak show for the post-modern set.

Or so they say.

Kiki and Herb are characters portrayed by Justin Bond and Kenny Melman. Justin embodies the character of Kiki DuRane, a 70 year old alcoholic woman who grabs her audiences both physically and emotionally as she belts out a montage of pop, hip-hop and torch songs while Kenny provides the musical underscore on the piano as the "gay retard jew" named Herb. Got that?

In the fall of 2004 they performed a sold-out farewell concert at Carnegie Hall which they recorded and released as an album "Kiki and Herb Will Die for You." Click on the link below to buy it on iTunes.
Kiki & Herb

I was able to catch Justin during the middle of a Marianne Faithful concert in London, England where we talked about the early 90's, grad school in London, Kiki and Herb's new tour, and her experience of singing at Carnegie Hall for a sold out house of her adoring fans, friends, and family.

To buy tickets for their show on Oct 14 in Chicago, you can visit the MCA website or call (312) 397-4010. You can also visit their website to find out if they're coming to your city.

COMING SOON: An in-depth hour-long interview with Dante's Cove star Charlie David! And yes, he's met Smallville's Tom Welling.

FOF #163 - Cocktoberfest - 09.29.05

Podcast
Victoria Lamarr and Fausto are all over the place on this show.
What ties us all is the lovely voice of our European correspondent, George Grant, who reports about Oktoberfest in Germany.

Did you know that female prisoners at Columbia's biggest women's prison have been competing in a beauty pageant? Oh yes! (Imagine me saying that in my Frank Nelson inspired voice)

Lots of talk about what it takes to win in all kinds of pageants. V-Marr vents about theater, German brothels, Oprahs new Broadway musical, and new evidence that supports the theory that the Egyptian ruler Cleopatra might have worn "mens" clothing in her time. She was our kind of woman- a real drag king!

BONUS: Stay tuned to the very end to hear V-Marr's and Fausto's greatest hits, not availbe anytime soon anywhere.

FOF #162 - The Depths of Darkness - 09.28.05

Podcast
Our lovely correspondent
and Chicago comedy legend, David Cerda (who's theater company Hell in a Handbag Productions has been nomiated for a Pressie "Best of Chicago" Award this year) comes over to talk about his company's new production The Twighlight Galllery, a collection of short plays inspired by the Twlight Zone and Night Gallery classics.

David, Marc and Fausto talk some more about Joan Crawford, gay squids, convergence, Cathy Sheehan, and kidnapping as art.

What is convergence? To biologists, that's when isolated, independent species develop identical ways of responding to a need (a bird's beak and an octpus' beak). In the art/intellectual world, convergence is when two individuals or communites develop the exact same work/idea at around the same time and it can be proven that there was no plagiarism.

Human beings respond to their world in similar ways. The beauty of the idea of convergence, is that it suggests that ALL life has similar needs and usually comes up with similar solutions.

FOF #161 - Two Hollywood Actors - 09.26.05

Podcast
Bryan Kirkwood and Charlie David are two actors
who play gay roles in Hollywood. Bryan identifies as mostly straight, has been promoting his new gay slasher film "HellBent". Did you know he dated Melissa Joan Hart?

Then there is Charlie David, who stars as Toby in the new TV show "Dante's Cove" (which premiers Oct 2nd on HERE! TV) Charlie is gay. Charlie talks about how it's time to come out as a gay actor because the opportunites are there, and because of the political climate that threatens all of us, gay and straight alike.

Soon-to-be famous actors are just like everyday people, only they are REALLY HOT. And they are brave to take such risky roles (in our opinion). For heavens sake, Bryan was on the Nanny! With Fran Drescher. Wish them luck!

The whole reason we were able to get such a good scoop was because Bill Gubrud & Jim McElaney of the Chicago Free Press set this all up for us to talk to these wonderful celebrities as part of the AIDS fundraiser, BAR AIDS. (Yes, I love that name too.) Later that night, you can hear Victoria Lamarr sing her famous Vietnamese torch song (dont ask me how to spell that one.)

Check out these lovely pics of our exciting evening out. Where was Marc? He was behind the camera taking all these photos! He's kind of shy.

This past saturday, Marc, Victoria and I went to T's (the most fabulous lesbian bar in Chicago) for Bar AIDS, to chat with soon to be gay heartthrobs Charlie David and Bryan Kirkland from Here TV.

Needless to say, V-Marr was adored by everyone, including one rowdy woman who challenged her to an arm wrestling match. Click here to find out who won.

FOF #160 - Get Rich and Famous Now! - 09.26.05

Podcast
V-Marr and Fausto chat about the myth of the "Big Break"
where all your financial, artistic, career and personal problems dissapear when you've made it into the "Big Time." It's a very American dream, and like most dreams, they exisit only in people's minds. If the RIAA wasn't so screwy, we'd be playing Peter Gabriel's song Big Time as a soundtrack.

More stuff on Kate Moss, and discussion on the new AOL study that finds blogs are more likely to deal with personal matters than politics or current events and that nealy 50% of bloggers see the activity as a form of therapy.

I want to know if you guys think this is a good thing or not, and does this apply to podcasters?

BONUS: Val Wang talks about neighbors who fight with each other in the backwoods of Maine. In her piece you can hear in the background the soothing, alpha-wave inducing sounds of a gorgeous river. Note: Val wrote "I actually HAVE been on my street in New York when shots were fired, but they weren't fired AT me and they weren't fired by my cousin, two very important distinctions!" We agree.

TOMORROW: We'll be talking to some really hot Hollywood hunks, Brian Kirkland and Charlie David, featured actors on Here TV, the new Gay cable channel.

Weekend Movie: Sex in Public

V-Marr and I found this lovely video, V-Marr says it reminds her of the time she had sex underneath the highway ramp with this hot gorgeous stud she met at a truck stop in Indiana. Fausto says it reminds him of getting blow jobs from hot young skinny boys at the Faerie communes in Tennessee.

Why does this remind me of Madonna's desperation attempts to remain in the public eye?

Podcast
Marc and Fausto go for a 3 hour-tour
(edited down to 50 minutes) in memory of TV camp legend Bob Denver (Gilligan from Gilligan's Island). Well sort of.

We got to go on this totally fun and Mum Champagne filled yacht cruise down the Chicago River, and saw all these lovely sights, like Bob, the Captain of the Ship.

Afterwards, we went to see the famous Cloud Gate (also known as The Bean) in downtown Chicago's Millenium Park, and ran into local newscaster Leann Trotter.

Podcast
Marc, Fausto and V-Marr
all went to check out the latest gay slasher film, "HellBent" which was showing a preview on a local theater as a teaser for Here! TV. The eerie thing is the lead actor for the film, Dylan Fergus bears an UNCANNY resemblance to Yeast Radio's Madge Weinstein.

Today we talk about horror films, Tyra Banks, Mike Hipp, and Fausto's mom Patricia who lives in Austin, in the middle of hurricane Rita's path.

BONUS: Our European correspondent George Grant talks about silenceisnotgolden.org, Baba- the sex toy that allows you to get screwed literally, and techniques on how to prevent masturbation. (They don't work. The only cure for masturbation is death or dismemberment.)

FOF #155 - Serving in the Military - 09.19.05

Podcast
Joel spends his days working on a huge naval air craft carrier
that houses over 5000 people. As a gay man serving in the military, he needs to be careful that the wrong people don't find out about his sexuality, but he is happy to talk about it with us!

Listen to this compelling interview as Fausto, Marc and V-Marr chat with this sexy seaman about his love for podcasts, men, and his struggle to finish his last year serving in the Navy so he can get an honorable discharge.

One interesting thing that was revealed during the interview was that Joel had to deal with an MP (thats a Military cop) who happens to be a Falcon Video porn star. Can you guess who? We're stumped.

FOF #153 - Put A Tiger in Your Tank - 09.15.05

Podcast
Our caramel-voiced European correspondent George Grant
reports on fashion trends that will inevitably affect us all (well "us" meaning gay white men, the rest of you are safe). Baseball caps as code, REALLY Low-Riser jeans (so low they show hair-pie) and stores so minimalist, you'd think they were simply out of inventory and furniture.

Amanda Steinstein once agains joins Marc and Fausto to talk about a German inventor who has found a way to take animals and convert them into gas. Soilent Green is People! Gasohol is Pets!

Also, Amanda shares a secret that Andrew Lloyd Webber might have suffered from cryptomnesia when he wrote the song "Memory" in the musical "Cats." She thinks the melody sounds an awful lot like the instrumental from the Mamas and the Papas' song "California Dreamin'". Coincidence? You decide.

FOF #152 - We Hate Men - 09.14.05

Podcast
Amanda Steinstein got in a heap of trouble
when she tried to date a guy who was in a relationship with another woman. Is this show about men behaving badly, or the people who put up with that kind of behavior? Will somebody tell us?

Believe it or not, Prez. Bush Jr. apologized today for dragging his feet in regards to responding to Hurricane Katrina. Well, in his own stupid way. Has anyone noticed how gray his hair is lately?

Here's a quote:
"Katrina exposed serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government," Bush said at a joint White House news conference with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. "And to the extent that the federal government didn't fully do its job right, I take responsibility. I want to know what went right and what went wrong," said Bush.

Bush is clearly allergic to the words "I'm sorry." But then again, we wouldn't apologize for something we don't think we've done wrong. Bush doesn't think of himself as a failure of any kind.

Maybe Karl Rove is whispering in his ear to start mopping up the political mess the Republican party is in by apologizing for not responding adequately to the damange done by hurricane Katrina.

Stay tuned! On tomorrow's show we have more of Amanda Steinstein and our delicious E.U. correspondent George Grant reports on Fashion.

FOF #143 - Podcasting Orgy - 09.01.05

Podcast
Benjamin Franklin once said guests are like fish,
when they are fresh they are fabulous, but after three days they start to stink.

After we taped yesterdays show, Patrick, Noah and Scott of the Patrick and Noah Show just wouldn't leave. So Marc and I undressed them, and we all spent the night sleeping like snakes in a pit, cuddling naked on Marc's giant futon in the living room. I actually liked smelling the stinky armpits of these hunky lakeview homos. So when I mean they stink, I mean it only in a good way.

The next day, after drinking the entire day, we went ahead and recorded another show. Listen to these delicious hotties chat with us about all sorts of ridiculous topics too numerous to mention. Listen to Fausto teach Noah how to lip sync like a professional diva.

BONUS: Part two of John Q Sanchez's coverage of Wigstock from New York City! In the second segment of our ongoing coverage, FoF's John Q. Sanchez goes backstage at Wigstock 2005, talks Wigstock history with Steve Lafreniere, watches the stars arrive, and talks to the performers. Plus, singing-acting drag queen Sherry Vine makes her triumphant return to the Wigstock stage after
a six-year absence.

ALSO: Our European correspondent George Grant takes a trip to Berlin. Not exactly a representation of gay Berlin, more like a dead fly on the windshield.
