Cirque Du So Gay
One of our local listenrs, Allan writes: When we went to lunch the other week, I mentioned my best friend Keith. He is the great guy who introduced me to your show, and he is currently touring in Japan with the Cirque Du Soleil production of Alergria.
In my most recent care package to him I included a Feast of Fools poster. I jokingly said he should take it backstage there in Tokyo and get some pictures of some of the artists holding the poster.
Well... he did it!

Amnesia Sparkles our psychic correspondant from New York City, reveals the different erogenous zones for each astrological sign. What makes a scorpio go nuts in the sack? My guess is that these declarations are about as accurate as a fortune cookie, but much more delicious.
Also lots of talk about Amnesia's love life and how she was with this hot Hawaiian boy which turned out to be not what she thought he was.
Meanwhile, our busy little bee with the BIG stinger, our European correspondent George Grant (who's a Libra I think) put together a radio drama out of clips from past shows. He titles it: "The Iron Poker."

FOF #182 - The Delight Zone - 10.26.05
Fausto and Marc zoom down Ashland Avenue in Chicago, Illinois just in time to join the festivities at Hell In A Handbag's Benefit Night.
Hell In A Handbag's production of "The Twilight Gallery" presents three short plays based on Twilight Zone and Midnight Gallery episodes all tweaked and camped up for our modern day sensiblities. This Twlight Zone was a de-light zone of campy fun!
We recorded our regular Feast of Fools Family member, David "The Queen of Camp" Cerda in his new adaptation titled "Eyes" in which he portrays Joan Crawford as an evil blind woman hellbent on seeing again. Enjoy a taste of the piece as she gets her just desserts.
Join us as we chat with fabulous actors, dine on TV dinners (provide by Rick Karlin) and drink Miller Lite from a can.

Vince Mills runs a coffee store in Hawaii called KENA Coffee and faithfully listens to the show every day. Vince is our kind of fan, the kind that likes to send us boxes of delicious coffee, candy, and calendars of hunky Hawaiian men.
When I told Amanda Steinstein that a mysterious box of Hawaiian goodies had arrived in the mail, she stopped working on her powerpoint presentations and immediately rushed over. Both of us SCREAMED with delight at opening all the fun stuff Vince sent to us. Thanks Mr. Mills!

FOF #175 - Pop Culture Prophet - 10.17.05
Even if you don't know who Malcolm McLaren is, you've probably have heard his influence on modern popular music. Malcom managed the Sex Pisols and New York Dolls and was critical in developing the sound and sensiblity of punk music as a response to the hippy post 60's scene that had dominated British rock and roll in the 1970's.
Why was this guy so into the music scene? McClaren claims he developed these bands in order to help sell his clothes from his "SEX" clothes shop he ran with fashionista Vivienne Westwood.

FOF #170 - American Idolatry - 10.10.05
On the first season of American Idol (the reality tv show/singing contest with Paula Abdul), New York City drag queen Amnesia Sparkles waited in line and interviewed for around 7 hours just to sing in front of Paula, Randy and Simon. She was good. Good enough to be on the DVD of the show, but not "good enough" to go to Hollywood.
It's bullshit like this that makes me want to change the channel. Okay, press "delete" on the TIVO.
Our "little drag queen that could" is none other than the brainchild of visual artist and entertainer Adrian L. Acosta, who lives in New York City and galavants around town doing a lot of the same things we do here in Chicago: interview freaky folks, sing, dance, tell jokes, keep a blog, and drink. As you can see, Adrian is our kind of gal.
On today's special TWO-PART Feast of Fools, Adrian reveals the psychic inner workings of the cosmos via astrology. Although we personally feel astrology is about as dependable as beliving in a fortune cookie, is fun to ponder the future by looking to the stars. (And by stars I mean celestial objects, not bloated actors living in California.)
We like to think of Adrian as a younger, more attractive and masculine Walter Mercado. Adrian and Fausto are both Aries. We're both Latin-American queers, and we we totally hit it off!
