FOF #234 - Pretty Girls Don't Fart - 01.27.06

Victoria Lamarr has been spending a lot of time at home lately recovering from her surgery. Victoria lives with not just any old HIV infection but with full blown AIDS. Even for Victoria Lamarr, who is clearly the most beautiful women on the Internet, intimate relationships are not easy. But, alas, Miss Vicki does go on, with a modicum of dignity, a bit of grace, and a whole lot of humor. Who doesn't like Victoria Lamarr?
V-Marr, as we like to call her, got her start singing on a street corner in Lakeview (Boystown) in the early 90's where she was discovered by a Vietnamese (or as those in the know say "Vietnamee") rock band director and hired as a blonde man to sing cheesy romantic pop songs at Vietnamese galas and weddings. Think "When a Man Loves a Woman" and "The Rose." Folks, if Celine Dion wrote it, Victoria Lamarr sang it.
On today's show, Amanda Steinstein joins Marc and Fausto to talk to Miss Vicki about her surgery, her man woes, and other delicious goodies. Listen to V-Marr's fascinating journey through love, life, Vietnamese music and the internet.
The podcast that makes its own gravy: the Feast of Fools.

Apropos the whole relationship thing ...
The only thing worse than not being in a relationship is being in a relationship : the only thing worse than being in a relationship is not being in a relationship.

Well said Steve! It's all about pros and cons. When we're in a relationship that is failing or has failed, we think of the untroubled waters of singlehood. When we're single and feeling lonely and horrible about it, we think of the joys a relationship brings. We just want the best for ourselves, selfish men that we are. *beats bosoms and weeps*

Get well VMarr!
However, this was one show not to listen to while eating my breakfast at work. Nothing like a descriptive story about VMarr's pads while eating your cereal!

Great interview with Josh, dont worry--I didn't go out and splash any blood on the books, but I did rush out and buy it. I am very excited about reading it. It is always interesting to look into the someone else's life and gain perspective on their struggles and triumphs.
