FOF #256 - Openly Clay - 02.28.06
![]()

Victoria Lamarr and Marc Felion put their comedic skills and their southern accents to work to recreate the infamous recent Clay Aiken alledged sex scandal. This little sketch is based on details that Jon Paulus, the man who claims to be holding Clay Aiken's cumrag, has given to the press.
What happened on that infamous first date when Clay met John? Listen and find out.
Lots of magic moments with Garageband 3, sound effects, and the ability of mind to imagine the sound of rain to transform into the sound of a hot skillet. V-marr squeals in delight with all the new bells and whistles.
We also discuss some freaky news about urine filled dildos, George Michael gets arrested again and a man who marries a goat!

FOF #255 - Messin' with a Military Man - 02.27.06
![]()

Although his real name isn't Jefferson Austin, Fausto's fabulous fan from the burbs of Chicago looks like many a person's porn star dreamboat.
In order to protect his secret identity we gave him an alias/porn star name. We took his first pet's name and the name of the street where he grew up and combined them to make his "porn star" name.
What would your porn star name be? Mine is "Jimmy Barbé."
On today's unedited/clean cut podcast, Fausto vents to J.A. about this awful diva and her nasty publicists, while drinking some Blue Devil Cocktails. Lots of chat on gays in the military, IKEA, race, sexuality, and gay sex.

FOF #253 - Victoria vs. the Victory Church - 02.23.06
![]()

She's back! The most beautiful woman (on the internet) Victoria Lamarr returns to razzle and dazzle us with her sordid tales of urban life, love and living with full blown AIDS.
Yesterday Miss Vicki and her boyfriend were walking down Devon street in Chicago when a van full of religious zealots named the Victory Ministries Church jumped out and tried to shove some hateful pamphlets in their faces calling V-Mar a sin against nature. You know, the usual "American AlQueda" garbage.
What did she do? She fought back. Listen to todays podcast about how one person has the power to fight back.
Also, talk on the sad but funny death of Chinese Rock Idol wannabe, Homeland Insecurity, Princess Diana, and a very powerful touching letter from a listner.
Always full of fruity fresh fun- the Feast of Fools!

FOF #251 - French Fashionistas - 02.21.06
![]()

Sharing a sweet kiss with his boyfriend Matt Horton (pictured here on the right) is none other than our fan and friend Benjamin Paciello a true french fasionista who descends from a very distinguished line of female fashion icons.
Just who is Benji related to? Well his aunt was none other than hollywood fashion model Suzy Parker, who was once said to be the highest-paid model in the world, earning more than $60,000 a year in the 1950s; she later embarked on a brief career as an actress in Hollywood. (he kind of looks like her too.) She was cut from the same cloth as our beloved Joan Crawford, as it seems they both came from San Antonio and became legendary women in fashion and film.
[Note: Although both women came from deep within the heart of Texas, Joan Crawford started her film career in the 1920's working as a silent film star in California. By the time Suzy Parker began her career, Joan had already won the Oscar in 1945 for Mildred Pierce. Thanks to true blue listener Michael White for the correction!]
You can see some fabulous images of her in Richard Avedon's fabulous book "Woman in the Mirror" by clicking here. Even the Beatles wrote a song about her!
His boyfriend Matt joins us with our lovable lesbian Cat Jefcoat to talk about the gay zoo pengins, anorexic lesbians, why Paris Hilton is NOT a whore, Leslie Hall, and lots of other lovely animal news.
Plus a special surprise phone call from Victoria Lamarr, who's announcing her new cleaning service. Yes, for the small price of $75 an hour you can hire Miss Vicki to come to your house and clean. And from what I hear, she DOES do windows. If you're interested, email her at victorialamarr [at symbol goes here] gmail [period] com.

FOF #250 - Lesbian Party Favors - 02.20.06
![]()

Meow! Lesbian health care advocate Cat Jefcoat joins us today to do a follow-up on LCCP's Annual Gala fundraiser event. A particular 2003 study (I said it was new, it's not) of breast cancer and oral sex places our beloved LCCP (that's Lesbian Community Cancer Project) in a difficult dilema. Of course, these women are smart bytches, and they overcome every obstacle in their way with wisdom, humor and grace. You have made a donation, haven't you?
Cat joins two of my favorite listeners from our Meet N' Greet Chicago event, Gordon West and Ron Reason. For those of you true-blue Feast of Fools fans, Gordon is the Jake Gyllenhaal look-a-like who dazzeled us all when he joined his pal Ron at our party sporting a "I am not Janice Dickson" red t-shirt. Who's Janice Dickson? When you're facing a seven foot tall Jake Gyllenhall looking stud, who cares?
Lots of talk on the unseemly practice of eating sunflower seeds on the train and why that puts us on the same boat as ultraconservative supreme court cheiftain Judge John Roberts. We chat about Judy Dench, more news on Brokeback Mountain, and the eerie tranny muscle man.
Also, our long-lost NYC correspondent John Q. Sanchez returns with an all new interview with Mother Flawless Sabrina, the host and producer of the drag queen beauty pageant featured in the 1968 documentary "The Queen." Click here to buy it on Amazon.com

Cocktail: The Porn Star
The Porn Star is sweet and sour and fulll of protein. It is best when shaken to full throttle. The egg white adds body and froth to the drink. In Spanish we call it "espuma" or "spumante" in Italian. In English its called "head." It just explodes with pleasure. Fresh egg whites are bit risky due to salmonella, but there are great alternatives to using fresh egg whites such as powdered egg whites and pastuerized egg whites from a carton.
In a shaker filled with ice add:
2 ounces of vodka
1 ounce of Chambord or raspberry liquor
2 ounces fresh lime juice
2 ounces fresh lemon juice
Egg white from one fresh organic egg or alternative

FOF #249 - The Porn Star Mystique - 02.17.06
![]()

The reason a lot of gay men become porn stars says our good friend Owen Keehnan is because of the notoriety of being labeled as such. It's certainly not because of the money or the sex, of which being a working porn actor provides very little.
On today's show we talk to "Starz" writer Owen Keenhan, IN THE HOUSE!!, about his new book, porn stars, his interview process, and what motivated him to write a book about the mind of the men who make the gay pornography so many of you, our listeners, consume.

Cocktail: Silver Beaver
Respect and honor the mature woman that lives inside you and outside of you.
2 oz. silver tequila
1 oz coffee liquor
1 oz of amaretto
3 oz of organic milk (happy cows make happy milk)
This drink will allow you to sing like the legendary Uppity Blues Woman Gaye Abegdalola, or at least think you can. We're not making any promises here. Just describing what can happen when the spirit moves you.
Gaye says she likes to have a drink when she's writing music to get in touch with something deeper. That's why they call them spirits. Anyone who's had the pleasure to see Gaye play in person knows its wonderfully transcendental and moving.
Another version of the drink it to skip the coffee liquor, the amaretto, the milk and just go straight for the silver tequila on the rocks!

FOF #248 - Gaye, Blues and Tatoos - 02.16.06
![]()

If you've never heard of silver-haired blues singing bitch Gaye Adegbalola you probably just started listening to this show. Well known for her anthems like "Big Ovaries," "Bitch with a Bad Attitute" and "Silver Beaver," Gaye has been singing the blues all her life and most recently for the last several decades with her all-woman band Saffire - The Uppity Blues women.
Gaye grew up in segregated Fredericksburg, Virginia in the 1940's and 50's. As the daughter of a jazz musician father and civil rights activist mother, Gaye found two very worthy causes. As a young woman, Gaye participated in the 1960's civil rights struggles that came about of the Rosa Parks/Montgomery Alabama Bus Boycotts. Later in life, she left school teaching behind and went on the road fulltime.
Today, she lives with her partner Suzanne Moe a tatoo artist in their home in Virginia and has a wonderful time as a popular blues singer both as a solo artist and with her band Saffire.
On today's BROADcast, listen to the delightfully gay Gaye as we talk about her songwriting process, how she came up with the song "Big Ovaries," her travels to Africa, why nothing's really changed, and reclaiming the word BITCH.
Oh yes, fellas, this woman is tearing it up on todays show! Yes indeed. When you're done head over to Gaye's site and read her blog.
If you are a lesbian and you don't own Gaye's CD/music, click on the links RIGHT NOW and treat yourself to something GOOD!

FOF #247 - The Morning After - 02.15.06
![]()

For you lonely souls out there, consider yourself lucky. Plastic surgery as a Valentine's Day present to your loved one is all the rage in China. It seems couples are not only getting the usual fare - facelifts, breast implants, lipo - but a handful of couples are being reported to getting their faces done to look more like each other.
People, this is taking wearing the same clothes in public to a whole new level. Everyone knows that people who live together wind up looking like each other anyways, so why hasten the process? Even pet owners look like thier dogs/cats/birds but nobody is thinking of getting a nose job to look more like fido!
On today's show Miss Ronnie comes to "debreif" us all about our fabulous Meet 'n Greet last Thursday at Clark's on Clark. We talk about what a great time we had with the listeners that came to the Meet 'n Greet. Hot guys, fun guys and wonderful ladies. Wow, what a time! And Vmar sits on a cake dressed like Anne Coulture! Could you ask for more?
Lots of talk on Dick Cheney and his shooting victim, famous celebrities in passing, and letters from our listeners.

For Immediate Release: Chicago Gay Podcast Still Breaks Records
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Fausto Fernós, Producer & Co-Host
Marc Felion, Business Manager & Co-Host

CHICAGO GAY PODCAST STILL BREAKS RECORDS AND EXPECTATIONS.
Podcasting pioneer Feast of Fools remains on top when it comes to gay comedy, content, and fun.
CHICAGO, IL (February 14, 2006) – In June 2005, Apple Computer took podcasting to the mainstream when support for subscribing to programs was added to the iTunes Music Store. A show created by a Chicago gay couple and their friends was already very popular in the new medium, but The Feast of Fools suddenly became a driving force in the world of Podcasting.
Every weekday, co-hosts Fausto Fernós and Marc Felion cross global lines and barriers and strive to reach listeners from all walks of life and locations via the internet. Since June, as thousands of new podcasts have become available for download and The Feast of Fools remains on top. The show is regularly ranked in the top 15 comedy podcasts on iTunes, and is the only gay themed podcast in their list of “Top 100 Podcasts.”
Every show is downloaded on the range of 6000-8000 times a month, with an average weekly distribution of 30,000 downloads. As a result, The Feast of Fools podcast is Chicago's #1 podcast and is consistently ranking higher in the iTunes Top 100 than such notable personalities as Howard Stern and even the President of the United States. No other gay-themed podcast has more listeners.
Every weekday the Feast of Fools posts a brand new show. Fernós and Felion act as anchors to their incredible, but real, menagerie of friends. During an average show, The Feast of Fools features news reports, original cocktail recipes, and celebrity interviews. Known among their fans as the "Love Boat of Podcasting”, ship captain Fernós and first-officer Felion manage to attract an impressive array of eccentric celebrities like: John Waters, Kathy Griffin, Teri Garr and Dee Snider.
A number of shows begin with an original cocktail recipe that pays tribute to a special guest. The recipe features unique ingredients that give a fresh take to old classics. Examples include the "Organic Cosmopolitan” (a tarter version of the popular drink made with unsweetened cranberry juice concentrate); and the "Dancing Queen,"(an unusual and flavorful combination of pear sake and energy drink).
The hosts often conduct a roundtable discussion on current news and trends with a unique humorous perspective that is a rarity in the mainstream media. Panelists reveal an inclusive view of minority culture (Gay, Latino, African-American, and HIV-positive), which makes it accessible to everyone who listens.
Being an independent media, podcasting allows the hosts to go to places where the mainstream cannot and will not. Feast of Fools "sound-sees" around the world have included:
• A bus ride with Anti-War activists to a rally at Cindy Sheehan's in front of President Bush's Texas ranch.
• A walk through the deep parts of the Puerto Rican rainforest.
• A frank discussion of Chicago's sexual underground at the world's largest Leather Conference.
• An intimate rummage through Illinois State Rep. Sara Feingenholz’s office refrigerator.
Occasionally, the Feast of Fools podcast also produces unique video podcasts that touch upon the absurd and the ridiculous, referencing old nickelodeon movies and documentary narratives.
The Feast of Fools recently celebrated its first anniversary and will soon be delivering the 250th episode. Listeners can download past episodes or subscribe to the show at the iTunes Music Store or by going to www.feastoffools.net

We do these things because we love you.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! We had such a wonderful time at our meet and greet last Thursday at Clark's on Clark here in Chicago, IL.
Besides dozens of hot men showing up to the party, several of the highlights were Amanda Steinstein working the crowd, Miss Ronnie beating up a short asian man with her frying pan, Marc and I cutting the cake, and Republican conservative pundit Ann Coulter sitting on our cake (can you guess who it was?)
Check out these memorable photos of our event taken by the photographic legend, Jason Smith. Good luck in Philly Jason! We'll miss you.

Cocktail: Mexican Chocolate Martini
Chocolate Martini #1
Hijole! This Michoacan Martini is one spicy treat to heat up Valentine's Day. If you don't get some from making one of these you must be dead.
The Mexican Chocolate martini is a spin on the popular Chocolate Martini, but has red-pepper flavored vodka as it's base. Our cocktail draws it's roots from the ancient Aztec drink "chocolatl" which was a coffee-like beverage made out of ground chile peppers and cocoa beans.
Later on the Europeans introduced sugar, cinnamon and milk into the chocolate beverage, which Mexicans enjoy today as a spicy delicious drink. Our version is ice cold and truer to the ancient drink. Ah progress.
2 oz Pepper Vodka
2 oz Dark Chocolate Liquor (Godiva Dark Chocolate is recommended)
Pour ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously then strain into a sugar-cayenne rimmed cocktail glass. When drinking this cocktail, imagine you're a brave and noble Aztec warrior sacrificing his heart for his god/goddess.
How to rim a glass
Spicy Sugar Mix:
1/4 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon ground red cayenne pepper
Mix the sugar and ground red pepper and place in a saucer. Wet a paper towel and place onto another saucer. Use the paper towel saucer to wet the edge of your cocktail glass, then gently press the upside down glass onto the sugar-pepper mixture.

Cocktail: Valencia
Chocolate Martini #2
Us latinos are very passionate people. Why our language itself Spanish is a romantic language. Romantic languages are languages who have Latin as a root (Spanish, French, Italian, Portugeuse). And the people who speak those languages tend to be hot under the collar. It's just one of those stereotypes that have a golden nugget of truth.
This orange flavored cocktail takes you to the mother country (no not Africa) but Spain, where all sorts of delicious oranges are grown. ¡Que viva España!
1 oz vodka
1 oz vanilla flavored vodka
1 oz chocolate liquor
1/2 oz of Cointreau (top quality orange liquor)
Rim your glass in a mixture of:
Sugar
Organic organge zest
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice, shake and strain into a orange sugared cocktail glass.
Garnish with a candied orange peel.

FOF #245 - Lesbian Carnival - 02.13.06

"Carnival" was the theme of this year's Lesbian Community Cancer Project's Annual Gala Event. which took place at the South Side Cultural Center in Chicago, Illinois. The place was littered with cotton candy, peanuts, chocolate fountains, and pink elephants, well at least the ones inside people's minds after having too many cocktails.
LCCP is one of the world's most important Lesbian Health Care organizations. Their annual fundraiser draws thousands of lesbians from all around the world to come together to celebrate the achivements of the group as well as to raise funds by dressing up and having a swell time.
Join me, Fausto Fernós and Patty Elvis as we talk to dozens of women about chocolate fountains,
cotton candy,

FOF #244 - Without You We're Nothing - 02.10.06

Dozens upon dozens of hot guys and cool chicks showed up for our first "Meet and Greet" at Clark's on Clark last night! Whoo! Whoo, indeed. It was pure bliss for the Feast of Fools gang: Victoria Lamarr, Amanda Steinstein, Miss Ronnie, Link Pinks, Bill Haddad (the voice of the Crystal Skull), Ryan Slasinki, Sal E and Alan Gentry to hang out with all these fine folks. Thank you.
We also got to hang with several big time podcasters; Wendy from Gabber Jaw, and Tom from Ramble Redhead. We even had a listener, John who come all the way from the O.C. Everyone was so fabulous, generous, lovely and fun. It was embolding and warm to see them face to face. Did I mention thanks?
Lots of love to all of you who showed up. We'll be posting some really sexy pics on Monday, as well as a hot video of V-Mar dressed as Ann Coulter who sits on a beautiful cake that was made by Keith of KeithCakes.com. For now, I'll be nursing a strong hangover from drinking lots of Blue Long Islands, thanks to Rob Fox from the Clarks' on Clark bar.
Please enjoy this short taste of our party. Thanks! Because without you, we are NOTHING! We love you.

Cocktail: The Rosie
Like a dozen long stemmed roses, this Valentine's day cocktail will certainly put your honey in the mood. When making this cocktail, keep in mind that a little rose water goes a long way. The beautiful garnet color, the orange liquor and the sweet smell of rose in this drink will make your sweetheart forget all about the last minute crappy gift you got him or her. A little white teddy bear clutching a heart with the words "I Love You" is so wrong, it won't even get Brad Pitt laid! Make your sweetheart this cocktail and the odds are in your favor.
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice add:
4 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Pomegranate or Cranberry juice (just enough to give it a blush)
A splash (1 teaspoon) of Orange Liquor
A single drop of Rose water (or crush an organic rose into the shaker)
Put ingredients into cocktail shaker, shake vigorously and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a rose petal floating on top.

FOF #243 - Every Rose Has It's Thorn - 02.09.06

Finally! A fine Faggot Family finds funding to further their feeding on faggots. Okay, faggot's are welsh style meatballs, but what IS exactly in them?
On today's show, we chomp at some letters from our listeners. Miss Ronnie tries to put it together to give some helpful advice, but everyone chimes in with wilding contrasting and differing opinions. As in matters of the heart, there are always multiple ways to look at things.
Also, lots of talk about how everyone's freaking out over the Danish cartoon that shows Mohammed wearing his bomb bonnet. We discuss the ancient semetic religous ideas, but it its Miss Ronnie that asks the really important question. Listen to find out what it is.
We chat about what is going on in Iran and why everything bad today is put on the Holocaust scale.
We chat about what is going on Thursday night-"The Meet and Greet!"

FOF #242 - Booty Face - 02.08.06

Pictures of the worlds's first face transplant have been released this week, and we just want to say she actually looks kind of normal. Normal for a face transplant.
Also this week, President Bush and his evildoers proposed to boost defense spending, slash domestic programs, and slow medicare's growth in order to soothe Republican anxiety over high deficits. Recession, unemployment, low wages, medicare cuts, defense growth... is there anything the Bush administration does right?
There seems to be a connection here between the two, we just can't put our finger on it. Can you? Please tell us.
On todays show we have a special guest drop in unexpectedly, as well as Miss Ronnie joining us to talk about her booty, hungry cats, Mr. Six Flags, and why Tony Curtis is one bitter old queen.
In case you wanted to see a photo of the facial reconstruction, click here.
Bootylicious and nutricious, the Feast of Fools.

FOF #241 - Screaming, Dancing Queens - 02.07.06

When the cat's away, the mice will play. The cat being Marc, and the mice being me (Fausto), my stylist Sal-E, and our intern Ryan Slasinsky. Since on the weekends Marc works as a bartender, I took the opportunity to throw a little party for my homeys. We made some really delicious cocktails. Ryan made a "Dancing Queen" cocktail and Sal-E made "Krazy Kool-Aid."
What you don't know is that my best pal and superstar photographer Jason Smith brought over a whole mess of hot Korean homos, Andy and Michael. Okay, there were TWO. But still hot nonetheless.
Flying blindly into the eye of a storm of homosexuality, Ryan, Sal-E and me, a sort of coven of screaming queens, decided to tape a disorganized show and wound up spending most of the time fighting for attention and showing off for Andy.
Listen as we share our Eartha Kitt stories, tips for podcasting for gay podcasters, and near-death experiences with taxicab drivers.
Check out these fabulous photos of our little get-together taken by my photographer pal Jason Smith.
Real people drinking real drinks, the Feast of Fools.

FOF #240 - Fashion Tips and Tricks - 02.06.06

Chicago nightclub entertainer Sal-E was laughing at me, Fausto because I was wearing the exact same sweater and pants he saw me in the other day. But Chicago is a very windy city, in more ways than one, and in the winter, the LAST thing you want to think about is what you're going to wear when nobody's looking.
I'm the first one to say my "costume" closet has more articles of clothing than my every day clothes closet. When I travel to do a show, I usually carry two suitcases, the big one being for costumes and props, the small one for my "normal" clothes.
On today's show Sal-E dishes the dirt with Marc Felion and Fausto Fernós about all sorts of delicious topics, including how to handle a drag queen in costume, how to make costumes, why its hard for Fausto to dress according to seasons, and Marc's ghetto heating tip. We open up the show with some PETA bracelets sent to us from vegan bodybuilder Mike. Then Ryan comes out of nowhere to complain about his Frapper Map profile which Marc wrote for him. Go check it out if you like guys with big wangs. Lots of talk about money, drugs, cocaine, crystal meth, and booze.
The most delicious podcast in the milky way, the Feast of Fools.

Climbing the charts!
Thank you everybody that sent me an email, a card or a birthday gift. I really appreciate it. Your kindness has been overwhelming!
I had a great birthday. I hung out with Miss Ronnie all day, had some some sushi with Fausto and then the three of us went to Big Mamma's House 2. Yes it was bad!
After the movie we went and had a few drinks at one of the local watering holes. It was a fun time. When we got home we were alerted that we were in the top 100 podcasts, not just comedy but of all podcasts! What a great birthday present. And today we are at number 92. Wow.
Out of five million estimated podcasts that exisit in the world, we're the only gay people who rank in the top 100 according to iTunes as of today.
We want to thank you all for listening, for supporting us, wearing our t-shirts and we want to thank all of our guests. We wouldn't be here without you. We promise to keep on giving you the best shows we can.
Stop by Clark's on Clark on February 9th at 8pm, and get a special FREE Feast of Fools merachandise. What is it going to be? (It's not crappy.) Think of it as a happy meal without the fat and sodium.

Cocktail: Big Bird
Big, yellow, and looney, this is the drink that we made to match Dick O'Day's crazy yellow suit. It's based on a tropical drink called the yellowbird. A couple of these will make you sing like a canary!
In a tall glass add ice. Add the following.
2 parts Vodka
2 parts Rum
2 parts Orange Juice
2 parts Pineapple Juice
2 parts Red Bull (optional)
Top it off with a dash of Coffee Liquer.
Garnish with a piece of banana and and orange or pineapple slice or all three.
Drink while listening to latin-exotica music (Esquivel, Perez Prado, etc...) and feel the heat of the latin beat!

FOF #239 - A Sunny Day - 02.03.06

Out of the many hilarious characters that local comedian Richard Knight, Jr. developed, probably the most memorable has been that of "Dick O'Day." Donning a LOUD yellow suit and double eyeglasses (having two glasses helps him to see better he says) Dick O'Day appeared on the 90's public television program Wild Chicago. The program touched on the beginning wave of reality television which had Dick running around town talking to the eccentric, loud, and of course wild.
That show was the Blondie to our Madonna.
Although the subject matter was pretty tame, it was the humanity and eccentricity that Richard Knight Jr. brought to his segments that made them a perennial favorite with viewers and critics alike. Two of his segments for WIld Chicago won Emmy awards for local television programming.
Richard also is well known for being the ringmaster for the Brazillian Pop band Samba Bamba which had one of our former guests Jen Zias as a regular singer.
Check out Richard Knight, Jr.'s website www.dickoday.com

FOF #238 - The Truth in Drag - 02.02.06

Josh Kilmer-Purcell led a double life in New York City in the 1990's. During the day he worked as an art director for a major advertising agency. At night, he wore a pair of acrylic breasts filled with water and live goldfish and under the name Aquadesia.
Also known as Aqua, he worked his routine with our very own Miss Understood at Lucky Chang's, a popular drag-entertainment Asian restaurant in New York City. Aqua won many contests, but the wild thing about her life is the excess of her existence-booze, drugs, hooker parties, bondage freaks and a hustler boyfriend.
On the right is a Wigstock publicity photo of Josh Kilmer-Purcell as Aqua. Note the live goldfish in his costume!
On todays show we discuss his new book "I Am Not Myself These Days: A Memoir." Josh's book is tale of being in love with the wrong man in the wrong way. This troublesome romance starts in a drunken mess and ends, well... we don't want to give it away so you will have to read it to find out!
In Josh Kilmer-Purcell's memoir you might see the influence of his good friend James Frey, author of the highly debated book on everyone's lips: "A Million Little Pieces." Listen to Josh speak candidly about the "frey over Frey" in the publishing world, the ramification it presents to his own book, and Oprah's reaction to Frey's missteps.
Delicious, pernicious and nutritious, the Feast of Fools.

Cocktail: Aqua Velva
It looks like Aqua Velva and is just as strong! Its minty fresh and definitely NOT a morning beverage. This cocktail is best served on the rocks.
Be sure when making an infusion with any liquor that you try to find the freshest, pesticide-free ingredients to ensure a delicious flavor in your beverage.
You'll need:
A spring of fresh organic mint
2 cups high quality vodka
1/4 oz of Blue Curacao
Place enough mint in the bottom of a mortar and pestle and grind with a tablespoon of vodka until it's a green pulp. Put the mint paste into a mason jar with vodka and refrigerate overnight, or over several days until the vodka is a greenish color. The longer yoou keep the mint in, the stronger the mint flavor will be. Filter out the leaves with a cheesecloth or tea strainer and keep the vodka refrigerated.
Serve several ounces of the green vodka with a splash of Blue Curacao over ice. Add soda water if desired. garnish with a nice sprig of fersh mint or an orange slice to compliment to Blue Curacao.

FOF #237 - Thank You Coretta - 02.01.06

Black history month begins this year on a sad note with the death of longtime civil rights champion for all, Coretta Scott King.
Mrs. Coretta is considered by many as the "first lady" of the civil rights movement. She worked hard to keep her husband the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy alive in the difficult years after his assasination 1968. This woman took a horrible loss with dignity and grace.
We here at the Feast of Fools podcast believe we wouldnt be here today if it wasn't for the hard work of people like Mrs. King who dedicated her entire life to expand the dream of her husband from a black civil rights movement, to a movement of civil rights for all. Here's to you Coretta, thank you!
Join us as we talk about Coretta Scott King's death, the Chicago nightclub scene, civil rights, McDonna, and gossip with Sal-E, one of the biggest names in the Chicago drag scene.
Entertaining you by any means necessary, the Feast of Fools.
