Feast of Fools Podcast gets nominated for People's Choice Podcast Award.

We are proud to announce that the Feast of Fools podcast has been nominated by you, the listener for a People's Choice Podcast Award. Thank you! We're all jumping here for joy at the FOF world headquarters.

From today until August 11, midnight, the polls will be open where you can vote for us once a day, every day (that's 15 votes total if you vote every day) so we can win the very first award for "Best GLBT Podcast." That's history in the making, folks.

So please take a moment and go right now (every day) and vote for the Feast of Fools.

From the very bottom of my blue heart I want to thank you for recognizing us and the podcast, and we hope we'll be living up to your praise and expectations.

I'm glad that in the vast Internet podcasts are able to put a face and voice behind all these Web sites, and have the powerful ability to connect on a deep emotional level with so many people all around the world.

We make this show because it allows people from all walks of life in all places in the world to connect, participate and listen to a vibrant, humorous, and inclusive conversation on a broad range of topics. Marc and I are always deeply touched by your letters, comments, and ideas -- they help us persevere when it's difficult and help us rejoice when it's an exhilarating experience.

We just want to say we're tickled pink (or blue). Thank you again for making the Feast of Fools the world's #1 downloaded GLBT podcast and hopefully soon the first GLTB Award winning People's Choice Podcast Award.

Said by: Destroyer of Worlds at July 29, 2006 03:09 AM

you mentioned in your last podcast that you're looking for songs to make your songs that scream gay. and for me that would be... Big and Rich - Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)... the dance remix. I know it's country but the song is talking about riding a cowboy and damn... everytime i'm at that gay bar i wanna ride that cowboy all day and night so it fits for me. plus they play it at the gay bars all the time.

Said by: Bobby at July 29, 2006 03:59 AM

I'm votin' every day and will untill they tell me I'm not allowed anymore. hope you guys have had a badass weekend.

Said by: Rochelle at July 30, 2006 07:22 PM

Said by: Mike Hunt at July 30, 2006 07:32 PM

QUARTER TURNS FOR EVERYONE!*

*only if you voted

Said by: Marc at August 2, 2006 05:14 PM

Enough with the republican bashing already! Gay republican is not an oxymoron -- and that this FACT hasn't come to be understood by the gay community is indicative of the tendency for gay people to be short-sighted.

We NEED gays in both parties. Until people come to accept that, there will continue to be the US vs. THEM dynamic.

The reasons I am a gay republican are: 1) I belive in limited goverment (that the party in it's current state has thrown this core principle aside is not relevant); 2) I refuse to allow the extremists in the party force me out.

Said by: Ben from MI at August 5, 2006 05:52 PM

Oh. My. I just tried to listen to one of the other shows in your category and after five minutes the guy hadn't taken a breath. Anoying, snarky, and self-centered. Okay, so maybe y'all are snarky and self-centered (at times), but at least you do it with class. ;)

Said by: Anna at August 6, 2006 05:26 PM

Said by: Marc at August 9, 2006 12:28 AM

I keep voting for you guys, and I believe you are going to win.

Do you know if the awards ceremony will be podcasted as well? It would make sense if they did that.

Said by: David at August 9, 2006 12:49 AM

I don't think so, but we'll def. be covering ourselves at it! We'll be reading our winning/losing speech at the Austin Texas Meet & Greet on Friday Aug 18th from 8-10pm, and posting it online the following monday.

We've written both speeches just in case.

Said by: Fausto at August 9, 2006 02:17 AM

...so you'll know by then? I thought you said we don't find out till Septemeber...? The sooner the better! :)

Said by: meshaped at August 9, 2006 02:46 AM

I just gotta ask, are you going to let Miss Ronnie speak? That could be priceless, either way.

Said by: David at August 10, 2006 12:34 AM

I just voted again, so Quarter Turns for me!

Said by: David at August 10, 2006 12:38 AM

OK, let's all calm down. If FOF wins, that will be fabulous! But if it loses, that doesn't mean a thing because FOF is close to many people's hearts and minds. I just saw a documentary on Willie Nelson, and his band members were saying that Willie has become so popular because he would play his heart out for even one person in the audience, and sometimes they only had 3 or 4 people listening. It's just a matter of time for this to get great big. PS, but if you DO want FOF to win, PLEASE vote every single day...

Said by: Patricia Fernós at August 10, 2006 12:44 PM

:D I voted every single day!

HOOOORAAAYYY FOR QUARTER TURNS! ^_^

Said by: Christine Aranda at August 11, 2006 12:23 AM

I want to thank Fausto and Marc for the opportunity to talk on their program. I had a really good time and appreciated their humor. They are truly awesome guys and I hope to one day meet them in person. After all I have to prove that I can Quarter Turn for 60 minutes. ;-)

Said by: John Paulus at August 11, 2006 05:56 PM

Is John asking us to feel every one of his walls?

Said by: Marc at August 12, 2006 01:57 AM

Let me start by saying that I do believe something hot and sticky and sweaty most likely happened in that hotel room. But for all we know, it may have been Half Turns. Or even full on Three Quarter Turns. Maybe even a little Sit and Spin (probably the most plausible, since it sounded like someone was pretty spun out). John Paulus sounds sincere, but honestly, certain elements of the story seem to be cleaned up a little. I'm just not sure about the motivation to leave with a hotel towel - isn't that what housekeeping is for? Was his state of mind really condusive to that level of caretaking (evidence removal) for someone who he perceived just treated him so badly? I probably would have just bolted out into the lobby triumphantly singing "Quarter Turns" or, "Anyone want to see Clay Aiken's ass juice on my cock?" And it sure sounded like Clay had been singing with Tina that night (and the next night, and the next night, and so on...). And I'll have to hurry out and try one of those energy drinks before it gets banned by the FDA. And for someone to incur a financial loss so seemingly easily recoverable (via a settlement), and just brush it off hoping for a bullshit apology. Kind of a sad situation all around, regardless of the details. The universal theme being how fucked up it must be to experience the wrath of claymates, whether it's through their groupie-esque obsessiveness or ignorant hatred. I'll look forward to watching the made for TV version! On Lifetime.

How Gay Is This?

Said by: J-ho at August 12, 2006 11:54 PM

Yikes... I just read through all the nasty comments in John's blog. Those Claymate harpies are tragic!

Fausto, that was a great comment you left over there. Unfortunately, it'll probably fall on deaf ears.
