Drag queen Lady Vera Parker moved to Chicago with the hopes of making it big as an entertainer. Last week, her dreams were dashed when she was pulled over in U-Haul truck she allegedly stole in Kentucky. When the police pulled up her record they found a laundry list of check fraud and deception warrants. She’s now being held in Cook County Prison awaiting trial.
What happened? On today’s show we’re talking to Kevin Pipkins, best known as Chicago drag queen Teri Yaki.
Kevin’s worked with the now infamous Lady Vera Parker and is here to explain in detail, what, to the best of his knowledge, happened and what the future holds for this John Waters villain come to life.
Adding to her growing list of atrocities, Lady Vera Parker was also spotted on a “jungle” themed gay pride parade float wearing silver pumps. What kind of self-respecting drag queen would be caught wearing those?

Subversive and perversive,THE Lady Bunny joins us today to talk about her debut DVD “X-Rated: For X-tra Retarded” a video collection of her greatest hits from her nightclub comedy act.
From her hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Lady Bunny moved to Atlanta to go to Georgia State University. She then later moved to New York City to become part of a vibrant community of drag performers in the 1980s. She still resides in NYC but you can catch her act all over the world.
Lady Bunny’s probably best known for organizing and founding the New York City Outdoor Drag Festival Wigstock, which in 1995 became the subject of a documentary “Wigstock The Movie” directed by Barry Shills.
In addition to emceeing the annual Wigstock event for over 20 years she’s a well known DJ, promoter, and comedian.
Bunny’s blog is a sharp, politically aware and at times loopy take on current affairs and cultural issues. It is truly extraordinary.
Listen to Lady Bunny talk about Pamela Anderson and the Comedy Central Roast, the politics of drag and her former roommate RuPaul, and her mother Lady Becky, who threatens to run onto the stage and steal the show with her tambourine. Wouldn’t that be a sight!

New York City Drag Queen comedian Hedda Lettuce talks about her desire to be a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race. American Idol contestant Adam Lambert comes out as gay.
RuPaul’s Drag Race is the most watched program featuring drag queens on TV. It’s made careers for some of its relatively unknown contestants. So why isn’t every queen in the nation getting with the program?
Drag legend Hedda Lettuce was forged in the fires of AIDS activism and in the New York City Cable Access television scene of the early 90s. Fifteen years later Hedda’s still going strong, traveling the country with her hilarious stand up act, and is a six time winner of “Drag Queen of the Year” by HX Magazine.
Her appearance on Project Runway made her look like a woman to be contended with.
She’s obviously good for TV, and now she’s bucking to be a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race. But is this the right move for her?
American Idol star Adam Lambert comes out in the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. In the article Lambert talks about deciding to come forward with his sexuality “I’m trying to be a singer, not a civil rights leader.”
