These moments are rare like the unexpected phone call inviting you to a fabulous event or a card from a long lost love trying to reconnect. For me, I had that golden moment when a received an email asking if I’d like to interview someone who bleaches people’s private parts for a living.
Yes, I’m that easy to please. But that is not all that Enrique of Face to Face NYC spa does. He also offers a full range of beauty treatments and products for men and he talks with us about what you can do to stay fabulous and looking good.

He even wants to sell his $6.2 million dollar home in Los Angeles to alleviate his financial burden but he’s having problems putting it on the market because he lives so close to tragic superstar Britney Spears. The street is usually littered with paparazzi waiting for the singer to do something crazy.
A group of Australian scientists this week announced a possible new treatment to prevent the spread of HIV in men. What’s it made from? Female hormones. Yeow!
After analyzing tissue samples from men’s foreskins (a hobby many gay men enjoy doing on their own) the researches found that oestriol, an estrogenic compound already found in women’s skin cream blocks entry of the HIV virus by creating what they call a “living condom” by building up superficial layer of cells.
The fascinating thing is the cream used in the study is already being used by millions of women for the last 30 years as a standard treatment for post-menopausal vaginal atrophy. Not sure what that means, but it sounds like it could use a little cream.

Hi all — our colleagues in Australia aligned with the International Rectal Microbicide Advocates are confronting the claims you mention about the creme to prevent HIV. They appear to be completely irresponsible and an example of a shockingly cheap publicity stunt at the expense of seriously confusing the public. This is the same group of researchers who have suggested lemon juice/lime juice might be safe to use as a vaginal microbicide – which is completely false. I will share more when I know – but with this, and any other thing you hear along these lines, be very, very skeptical.
I have not listened to the podcast yet as I am on my way to work. I hope the spa guy talks about anal bleaching as that is a popular thing here in California.

I’m still a bit confused by this whole anal bleaching thing. Do they bleach the actual anus or your entire ass so that it’s lily white against your tan body? And really what is the purpose of the bleaching?

Often the pigment around the anus is darker. The bleaching is done in that area not the entire buttock. Porn stars have been anal bleaching for years ( to be pretty for the close ups ) but it it now offered in many spas here in California. It is kinda of a rage right now.

Good show. It was enjoyable to have Rick on and hear his comments. I think I will go to my dermatologist for skin care but the spa sounds good for a nice massage and to feel pampered.
