I wanted to post a comment sooner about your Philly visit, but I had some trouble getting an account. Thanks, Marc, for getting one set up for me.

I lived in Philly from 1998 to 2002. I loved living there. There was always something to do. There was an abundant nightlife available. Lots of bars and bookstores. Pride was always a blast. You could go anywhere you needed to via SEPTA (the areas transit system of trains and buses) and/or a short cab ride. Taxi cab rates were very reasonable as they were regulated by the city. I owned a car, but I rarely drove it. I can\’t say the same for Atlanta where we have MARTA and cab fares are bit steep.
I had the pleasure of visiting both Ironhill Brewery and Monk\’s. Some of the best beer I\’ve ever had at both establishments. My friends and I always had a Happy Hour gathering at some local bar every Friday after work. That\’s the thing I miss most about Philly. There was a bar on almost every corner and very often a church right across the street. I suppose it was so you could go to confession after an evening of binge drinking. Very different from what you see growing up in the South.

Great shows on Philly\’s beer culture. I had never heard of the Gueuze style of beer. I had to do some research. I love Belgian beers, but I don\’t think the sour flavor is for me. Incidentally, it is pronounced GOO-za according to Wikipedia and several other sites. i would have pronounced GOOZ also the way it is spelled.

What a great show guys. I\’m a major beer \’enthusiast\’ Love trying different styles of beer and brewery tours. I even brew at home. But it was great to hear other gay folks enjoying the expirience. I thought I was the only one.

I\’m with Rick. I actually can\’t stand beer, but listening to this show makes me really want to try some!

How fantastic was Tracy? She seemed to know quite a bit about a lot of things. And you guys talking about Excel and keyboard shortcuts – that\’s me at my office. I get so frustrated with people who only use the mouse. I just want to scream sometimes.

I\’m not much of a beer drinker either but honestly about 3/4 of the way into the show I was craving one REAL BAD! I liked this show format– it was fun and silly and everything I love about FoF, but also somewhat educational. You can learn something at the Feast of Fools!

I have a suggestion for a song about beer you could\’ve played! I have always loved \”I Spend My Last $10.00 (On Birth Control And Beer)\” by Two Nice Girls. Very folky. Though it\’s more about being depressed and drinking your worries away rather than bestowing the virtues of beer.

I loved the information on the many different kinds of beer you encountered in Philly. I\’m usually a import snob and have not tried much of the local fare, but this has encouraged me to be more adventurous. Good job, guys!

I\’ve been to Philadelphia a few times for concerts and checked out the nightlife too, but I
never thought to try the beer ! Live and learn.

Boston is loaded with beer brew houses too, we even have a Ben Franklin running around town. He\’s kind of a
perv though.
