Fun shows guys but I did feel sorry for the guests, the audience came over as “difficult”. Maybe it was just on the podcast they appeared so, perhaps in real life they were more forthcoming.

Yeah, I thought the same, Mark. Many times, when I was chuckling myself, listening to the podcast, there seemed to have been a total silence from the audience.

Anyway, I enjoyed the podcast a lot and love all the guests.

I understand in the olden days of Bath Houses that entertainment like this was a staple of the clubs. Such celebs as Bette Midler and Barry Manilow got their start in a Gay Bath Houses doing performances. (I believe it was the Continental Baths in NY) the patrons would hang out in the area where the stage was. sometimes dressed and sometimes in a towel. (did they serve meals their too? I am figuring it was a combined bar/nightclub and sex club all in one in the days of being way in the closet and a social outlet). So I am wondering if this is typical of the kind of shows you guys have done that reflects back to the old days of bath houses. I’m 44 and only have heard about the performances stuff from a few people who are much older than myself. If it matters much, I have never been to a bath house or sex club (do prono theaters count as sex clubs? )

I think Basboy should come to the next show at Steamworks here in Chicago. I’d be more than happy to give you a tour. Your boyfriend too, of course. ;-)

Awesome show guys! And you read my question on the show……woo hoo!!! Would have been so awesome to be there. Great performances by everybody. I do agree with Mark Wilson who said the audience sounded ‘difficult’……but could have just been the recording or background volume pickup.

Marc…..please call me when you have a moment. E-mail me if u don’t still have my number. Thanks!

Sorry Joe, I will call you tonight or call me.

The audience was wonderful. What you are missing out on is the live experience of actually being there in the moment. Also, the comedians were speaking into a mic and the audience was not so you won’t hear their chuckles and guffaws.

Maybe next time we should mic the audience.

Basboy- this show was not typical of the Feast of Fools cabaret. We stuck to comedy for this show because it translates well through the audio format. The live show had a lot of performance art with visual aspects to it.

I’ve been telling the Sandpaper Sally joke since sophomore year in high school. It’s like the Aristocrats, it never gets old.

  10. Tell me about it! I like Marc’s groaners. He’s a lot like my dad was, loved to tell corny jokes! We’d go on long road trips in Puerto Rico and my dad would tell these elaborate jokes, and we’d sit there as kids, SILENT.

Then, we’d say “otra!” Please tell us another joke papi!

YAY! I love the live FOF shows. 3 sexy comics who Marc and Fausto convinced to perform in only a towel. HURRAY!!! The fantastic and racy Phil Putnam. And the incomparable Tracy Tyler. But Tracy girl you need to get yourself another man. Also hurray to the volunteer who sat on a cake so that someday I may get married.

yeah I stole Rihanna’s boyfriend and her song LOL LOL LOL —- thanks to everyone that came out and saw the show! it was really fun. Contrary to what was said above the audience was really great, it was litterally standing room only in there, every seat was filled. Too bad the mics didn’t pick up everything going on in the crowd. I think it was a great way to celebrate Steamworks while poking some fun at ourselves and our community.

I had never heard that sandpaper joke and I was on my commute to work while listening to this podcast and I totally gasped and covered my face after the punch line. People thought I was insane.

I knew Tracy would steal the show. Jumping on stage with a foam necklace with a story about a jealous boyfriend and then wipping out a hot song and then panting all over the crowd. Fabulous. Great show.
