Comments
I just finished listening to this show this morning, and found it ABSOLUTELY delightful. What a refreshing and fun show. Nadya has it going on, and you both were great. Love that Feast of Fun synergy when it happens. This will be saved on my iPod with my other favorites — Nadya, meet Peaches, Varla, and Gigi.
I guess comments are working now?
I loved the Madonna and Lourdes video, it was so freaking funny, especially since Selene had that uni-brow.
When I saw the commercial with Jackie Beat and Selene Luna, I was so happy someone was doing something to counter those propaganda commercials produced by the corn industry. Most people, in fact, can’t think of things right off the top of their head why it’s so bad for you.
Think of it this way:
High fructose corn syrup is made separating anything healthy out of corn starch from the stuff that is not good for you. The stuff that isn’t good for you is the high-fructose corn syrup, it has not vitamins, minerals. Also, the fructose molecule in HFCS, is NOT the same as fructose found in sugar beets or cane sugar).
Here are other ways it damages your body:
It has been found to contain mercury
Causes insulin resistance
Linked to diabetes
Fructose converts to fat in the body (rather than be ing metabolized)
Most HFCS is consumed as a liquid, which magnifies its negative metabolic effects
When early Native Americans changed their diet to one based mostly on corn, they had increased rates of the following:
Anemia
Dental cavities
Osteoarthritis
Bone infections and other bone problems
