We’re so excited because today we have one of the world’s oldest and most famous Castrati, the incomparable Alessandro Moreschi, pictured on the right. Click on the audio file at the bottom of the Wikipedia page for Moreschi to hear him sing. It’s freaky.

Alessandro joins his lesser known Castrato singing buddies, Carlo Cuttheballi and Benito Nonutzis to talk about his new album of religious music.

Also Marc, Fausto and V-Marr talk tons about suicide, gay teens, Star Trek’s up and coming 40th anniversary events, Christie’s Star Trek garage sale, and Albert Perry the 75 year old bodybuilder, pictured here.

If you’re a gay teen contemplating suicide, call The Trevor Project- operates the nation’s only round-the-clock, toll-free suicide prevention hotline for GLBTQQ youth. (1-866-4-U-Trevor)

Come see a live recording of the Feast of Fools podcast at the Apple Store, Saturday May 27th from 7-8pm! Best of all it’s FREE.

LOL I forgot how funny that opening sketch was. And was this V-Marr’s last “official” show before her long LOA?

Thanks for posting this one… good memories!!!

  2. Rhea says:

Initial thoughts– the reference to Michael Jackson being a possible castrato made me smile. Now if you could rerun the episode where you guys were making fun of Sanjaya…

This episode is one of my all-time favourites. Not just for the hilarious sketch at the beginning, but also for the frank discussion about gay teen suicide and the heartfelt advice the three of you gave to Cameron, the 14 year old kid from Winnipeg, who was upset about being overweight and gay. Vicky’s comment about her daily fight to stay alive was especially poignant.

Cameron, if you’re still out there, I hope you’re doing all right.

    • Yeah Rhea- I hope he’s okay! Do you remember what episode number that was? They all kind of blurr into a blob after 1000 shows.

With regards of this “classic” castrati podcast, we had no intention of tying it to Michael Jackson. But I guess sometimes coincidences happen!

  3. Cliff Dix says:

This was the first episode of FOF I downloaded and listened to. This one got me hooked and I have been a fan ever since. Love you guys.

  4. Wow I had no idea this show meant so much to both of you guys!
