For over 25 years, Andy Thayer has fought tirelessly for gay rights, including Marriage Equality, the Stop Dr. Laura campaign and anti-police brutality against gays. He recently was arrested at the 4th annual Gay Pride in Moscow which coincided with the popular Eurovision contest and spent the night in a Russian prison.
Earlier this week the California Supreme Court upheld Proposition 8, the Referendum from the 2008 election that took away the right for same sex people to marry. At the same time, the judges upheld the same sex marriages performed before the referendum. What’s going on here?
Listen as we talk with Andy about the big political changes coming to this country and what it means for you. Where do we go from here?
Is fighting for gay marriage a cash cow?

What a turnout! Thousands of protesters flooded Chicago’s Federal Plaza on Saturday, November 15 (today) in opposition of Proposition 8 as part of an 300 city, 50 state movement against the California amendment that passed earlier this month.
Chicago police had to close down a lane of traffic to accommodate the huge crowds, which later turned into a march down Michigan Ave. through the heart of Chicago’s downtown shopping district, best known as the “Miracle Mile.”
Event spokesperson Andy Thayer said the protesters were “ecstatic to see so many of their peers standing up for equality. We are angry that our community has been vilified by those who hate us, but determined to fight on for equality.”
