sure it would be nice to see these big internet celebrities make a comment, standing up for gay rights, but they have the right not to say anything.

and personally, i think making super long blog posts or doing a Vlog about how they are sooooooooo dissapointed with person A who didn't do or say something when they had every right not to do whatever it was is so immature and lame. Its just like, get over yourself. if you are so concerned about equal rights for Gays, then get off your ass and do something about it instead of bawwwing about it on the internet. now i dunno how much work this blogger has put into fighting for gay rights, if he actually does do work then good for him. but really dude, move on

Whether they like it or not, modern media personalities demonstrate an undeniable amount of influence*, and with that comes certain responsibilities.

It would've been nice if they'd taken a few minutes to post a response to the election results. It may be a different tone from their usually media but that could simply increase the impact of their message.

“what have you done to advance equality?”

To me "being open about yourself" appears to be the new standard now days. If new progress it to be made you have to raise the bar up.

On the topic of their real names, i think it's a nonissue. We don't love these identities because of who they are but rather who they are portrayed to be. They're constructs in most cases. Their real identities wouldn't necessarily hold as much weight as their persona's.

*I found myself buying Kellog's All Bran the other week after spending some time on goatherdered.com :/
