Bertha’s All Butter Flaky Pie Crust

1 stick of cold butter
11/3 cups All Purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp red wine vinegar or vodka
3 to 5 Tbsp of cold water

1. Sift all dry ingredients together.
2. Cut cold butter into small chunks. Cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture looks like small peas or cornmeal
3. Add vinegar and 3 tbsp of water. Mix gently. Add more water if needed. The dough should be firm, together, and not soggy. Wrap in plastic and chill for at least 1 hour.
Roll out to a 13 inch circle. Place into a pie pan.

Bertha’s Brownie Pie

6 oz of dark chocolate chips (half bag)
1 stick of butter
1 1/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
3 tsp flour
2 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 350. Melt chocolate and butter over a double boiler. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Mix until cool. Add four eggs. Mix. Add flour and salt. Mix until no lumps appear. Add vanilla. Mix. Pour into a 9 inch unbaked pie shell. Bake for 45 minutes until the center is firm and puffs up. Remove from oven, cool on rack, and dust with powered sugar to serve. Enjoy!
